Worried about boarding?Worried your cat will hate being boarded?
Most pawrents who find us arrive with the same quiet worry: Who will care for my cats the way I do? Is boarding really better than a pet sitter? Will they cope without me?
Some have learned the hard way. A sitter who cancelled at the last minute. A cat who came home stressed after being boarded in a cramped and small spaces.
Years of caring for cats have taught us that most settle faster than their owners fear, when they have a private room and a routine built around their need for space and time until they feel ready. First-time guests usually take a day or two to relax, start eating normally and come to us for attention, which is completely normal. Return guests sometimes waltz in as if they never left, and with every stay we watch them settle in faster.
No cages. No shared spaces. A private room, a calm routine, and a team watching closely enough to notice the small things. This is the experience our cats enjoy.

The Shangri-Paw differenceWhy pawrents choose Shangri-Paw Cat Hotel
Genuinely Fear Free,
Led by a vet-nurse-trained founder
Founder, Kerstin trained in veterinary nursing, animal behaviour and Fear Free care. That means calm, low-stress handling, and the confidence to manage medication and catch any early signs of trouble.
Spotless, science-led hygiene
Owners say the same thing on their tour: you could not guess there are this many cats here, there is no smell at all.
F10 disinfectant, high-temperature laundry, stainless litter boxes and HEPA air purifiers, we pride ourselves on comfort and hygiene.
Worry free experience for cat owners,
With care shaped around your cat
Our setup allows us to adapt to your cats’ food, sleeping and interaction needs. A long play session to burn off that kitten energy, a few short cuddles for a shy newcomer, extra brushing for all that Ragdoll fluff, or small meals through the day instead of one big bowl. Tell us what your cat needs, and that is exactly what they get.
A cat centric space:
No cages, no shared spaces
Every guest gets a private, fully catified room with space to perch, hide and feel safe. And soon enough it’s time for us to interact, cuddle, play and groom them. Right where they now feel at home.
Honest expertiseWhat is Fear Free cat boarding?
Fear Free is an evidence-based approach to preventing fear, anxiety and stress in animals. In practice, Fear Free cat boarding means recognising the signs of fear, anxiety and stress in a cat and adapting our approach accordingly: gentle handling, never forcing interaction, and an environment designed to keep them calm.
One important note! No boarding facility anywhere can be "Fear Free Certified." Only individual people and veterinary practices can earn the certification, and it must be renewed yearly.
Kerstin earned hers herself, renews it every year, and is one of only two cat hotel owners in Singapore listed on the official Fear Free directory.
Day to day it looks like this: no cages, letting your cat approach us first, calming music, pheromone support when it helps, no perfume on our team, familiar items from home, and never grooming a cat who is not ready.

How we keep you updatedYou will never wonder how your cat is doing
From the day your cat checks in, we keep you close. In the first few days especially, expect plenty: photos and videos, how much they ate at each meal, how they are settling in, even the pee and poop updates that quietly tell us they are comfortable.
Every cat gets a dedicated WhatsApp group. Bring in family if you like. Founder Kerstin is in every single one, even on her own holidays to ensure you have a peace of mind.
Meet the founder of shangri-paw, KerstinA present owner, with years of hands-on experience
Shangri-Paw started with a simple problem. After years in cat rescue and fostering, including round-the-clock care for tiny kittens, Kerstin had nowhere she fully trusted with her own very needy cats when she travelled. This inspired her to build Shangri-Paw, Singapore's boutique luxury cat hotel, cats-only and run on genuine Fear Free care.
She trained in veterinary nursing, animal behaviour and Fear Free care, and worked in clinics before opening the hotel. She is here personally almost every day, knows her guest cats by name and routine, and is in every owner chat. Behind her is a small, long-serving team, so your cat sees familiar faces every stay.

Your cat needs to be fully vaccinated (or have a vet-issued titre test or exemption memo), sterilised if over six months old unless your vet advises otherwise, free of any contagious illness, and tested for FIV and FeLV, though positive cats are welcome with extra hygiene arrangements.
From 1 September 2026, your cat also needs a valid AVS cat licence, now mandatory in Singapore and free to register until 31 August 2026. Send us your cat's vaccination record and licence details prior to check-in.

No, and to be honest we do not know a cat hotel in Singapore that genuinely has overnight staff. What we do have is a secure, climate-controlled space, cameras in many rooms, and a careful evening and early-morning routine. Cats sleep for much of the night, and we make sure every guest is settled, fed and comfortable before we leave.

Most cats settle faster than their owners expect. With a private room, a familiar routine and gentle, Fear Free handling, the majority relax within hours, and quicker still on return visits. We watch closely and keep you updated so you can see it for yourself.

Yes, at Shangri-Paw Cat Hotel. Kerstin is vet-nurse trained, and we regularly care for cats with conditions like CKD, diabetes, asthma, arthritis and post-surgery recovery, including oral, topical and subcutaneous medication.
We work alongside your own vet, and we will always be honest if a cat's needs are beyond what boarding can safely provide.

Cats need to be vaccinated, or have a titre test or vet memo, sterilised if over six months unless exempted by a vet, free of contagious disease, and tested for FIV and FeLV. A tour and full payment confirm your room, and we walk you through everything when you enquire.
Send us your cat's vaccination record and licence details prior to check-in.

Yes to both. You can pick the specific room, down to the room number, and we encourage you to bring familiar bedding, toys and food. Every room has power points, so you can set up your own water fountain, feeder or camera just like home.
